AUDLEY STRIDERS RUNNING CLUB CODE OF CONDUCT

 

At Audley Striders Running Club, we are committed to fostering a welcoming, inclusive, and safe environment for all members and participants. This Code of Conduct outlines the principles and expectations for behavior to ensure a positive experience for everyone involved. By participating in club activities, members agree to uphold these standards.

1. Respect and Inclusion

Treat all members, participants, volunteers, and spectators with respect, regardless of age, gender, race, religion, sexual orientation, ability, or background.

Promote a culture of inclusivity where everyone feels welcome and valued.

Avoid discriminatory, offensive, or inappropriate language and behavior.

2. Safety First

Prioritize safety during all club activities, including training sessions, races, and social events.

Follow the instructions of club leaders, coaches, and marshals.

Wear appropriate clothing and footwear for running activities and ensure you are visible in low-light conditions (e.g., reflective gear).

Report any hazards, injuries, or concerns to club leaders promptly.

Do not participate in club activities while under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

3. Sportsmanship and Conduct

Represent the club positively at events, whether competing, volunteering, or spectating.

Encourage and support fellow runners, celebrating achievements and progress.

Refrain from unsportsmanlike behavior, including cheating, disrespect, or negative comments toward others.

4. Commitment to Health and Well-being

Listen to your body and avoid overtraining or participating while unwell.

Seek medical advice if you experience health concerns related to running.

Respect others' personal space and boundaries, particularly during group activities.

5. Social Media and Communication

Use social media and other communication platforms responsibly to promote the club’s values and activities.

Avoid posting content that is offensive, inappropriate, or misrepresents the club.

Respect members' privacy and seek permission before sharing their images or personal information.

6. Club Leadership and Volunteers

Respect the decisions and guidance of club leaders, coaches, and volunteers who dedicate their time to the club.

Provide constructive feedback through appropriate channels if you have concerns or suggestions.

Support club initiatives and volunteer when possible to contribute to the running of the club.

7. Breach of Code of Conduct

Any member found to be in breach of this Code of Conduct may face disciplinary action, which could include a warning, suspension, or termination of club membership.

Serious breaches, such as harassment, discrimination, or endangering others, will be addressed immediately and appropriately by the club’s leadership team.

AUDLEY STRIDERS RUNNING CLUB CODE OF CONDUCT

 

Members shall control their conduct during club runs, activities, and at races whilst at all times being respectful to all other members and opponents. Conducting themselves in a manner that will ensure the safety of others so as to not reflect negatively on the club and its members.

Members shall choose their words carefully and shall refrain from talking negatively about others when interacting with each other , other running clubs and opponents when at club runs, activities, races, or via the Internet in public forums.

Members shall conduct themselves in a manner that will ensure a comfortable and welcoming club environment. Members are expected to interact with all persons in a manner that avoids behaviour that could be construed as discrimination or sexual harassment. Sexual harassment is defined as “Unwanted sexual advances, or visual, verbal or physical conduct of a sexual nature.” Members are expected to respect the age, religion, ethnic background, gender, and sexual orientation of other members. Members are to recognise that the club operates as a sports and social club, however also are to understand that discrimination or unwanted and/or continued advances toward other members will not be accepted and that all members have the right to an environment free from all forms of discrimination, including sexual harassment.

Members should acknowledge the accomplishments and efforts of others, encouraging all members  and opponents to excel whilst keeping in mind you represent the club as an ambassador to the community at large.

Members are responsible to ensure that this Code of Conduct is followed and are expected to report any inappropriate actions or behaviour to the committee.

If an accusation of misconduct is made against any member then their membership will be suspended until an enquiry is carried out. If found to be in violation of the code of conduct then membership will be revoked immediately

Membership may be terminated by resignation of a member, or by a majority vote of the committee for violations of this Code of Conduct.
